Tigers News · Tiger Youth Girls Basketball

Tiger Youth Girls Basketball provides an opportunity for elementary age students to engage in basketball activity, on a regular basis. Each session will consist of 45 minutes of drill-oriented station work, instructed by coaches, parents and players in the high school program. TYGB will focus on the skills and drills that aid in developing fundamentals and knowledge of the game. The remaining 30 minutes will be used to play a running clock scrimmage. The basketball goals will be lowered for the younger age groups to aid in their success. We also include the TYGB players in halftime activities during Girls JV and Varsity games.
This provides a focused, organized, and energetic opportunity for our elementary students at Yorktown to learn the game of basketball and stay active during the winter months. This league also provides our high school athletes an opportunity for community service and a sense of ownership in developing the future of their program. A sense of community and spirit not only helps our youth, but trickles throughout the high school programs as well.

Along with this league, we would like to create a 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th grade team to compete in the ECI League which starts November 10th and runs through February 16th.  If your daughter would like to compete against others girls from different schools, then this league would give her that opportunity!!!  We are trying to give the girls another avenue to play basketball against a little tougher competition.

Info Sheet and Registrations form is attached and the due date is 9/30
