Parents and Athletes,
We are excited to begin phasing back our FALL sports next week. Please remember that this will be for students interested in participating in FALL sports only: Girls Golf, Boys Tennis, Boys/Girls Cross Country, Boys/Girls Soccer, Football, Volleyball, Cheerleading or Dance Team.
We will begin with conditioning open to any potential FALL athlete and it will be conducted July 6, 8, 10, 13, 15, and 17 from 8:00 am to 10:00 am out at the football field. Athletes need to enter via the gates on the south-side of the school closest to the gym entrance.
We will check athletes in and make sure they have an IHSAA Physical on file (last years will work) or collect their new physical at that time. In addition every athlete must bring their IHSAA Health History Update IHSAA 2020-21 Health History Update and Consent and Release (remember if you answered yes to any of the IHSAA 7 questions, you must get a new 2020-21 IHSAA Physical: 2020-21-IHSAA-Physical-Form1.
Also each athlete must wear a mask to and from any athletic activity. They will be allowed to take off during vigorous activity. Also, athletes need to bring WATER. This can not be stressed enough. It will be extremely hot the next few weeks, and water will not be provided, so plan accordingly.
Also make sure you self screen your athlete prior to sending each day. Our protocols for screening are in the Sports Re-Entry Protocol Yorktown Community Schools Return to Sports Re-entry Protocol. If your athlete exhibits any symptoms, they need to stay home and reference the 2 new additional documents from the Delaware County Board of Health that speaks to symptoms and returning: School Screening symptoms flyer and Student Guidance for Return to School-Activities. It is critical that YOU DO NOT allow your athlete to attend if they are not feeling well.
