Cross Country (Co-ed V & JV) Yorktown High School

Cross Country competes at Taylor University Invitational. Paskiewicz re-sets School Record, and Turner wins individual title

The Yorktown Cross Country squads competed at the Taylor University XC Invite on Saturday. The Girls finished 4th overall as a team. Which was a significant improvement from finishing 6th at this meet a year ago. They were led by scorers Rylie Paskiewicz, who finished 5th and re-set the School Record again at 18:27.62. The Lady Tigers scoring was rounded out by Isla Morrison (33rd), Skye Hellis (36th), Auden Turner (46th), and Lexi Slaven (59th). On the Boys side, the State Ranked #8 Tigers (45 points) finished Runner-Up behind Homestead (30 points), which is ranked #2 in the latest single-class IATCCC State Rankings. The Tigers finished ahead of the State Ranked #15 Zionsville Eagles (85 points). The Tigers were led by Wyatt Turner, who was the individual champion in a blistering 15:31.95. Rounding out the Tiger scorers were Thomas Loney (6th), Louie Pevler (8th), Owen Lamb (13th), and Cal Shanayda (19th) The Tigers are next in action at CERALand Park on Saturday, September 5th, where Columbus North hosts the Columbus North "Rick Weinheimer" Invitational.
