Tigers XC competes at IWU Wildcat Invite, both School Records fall

The Yorktown Cross Country squads took on a stacked field at the Wildcat Classic at IWU on Saturday. The Tiger’s individuals set 26 Personal Records on the day, and both the Boys and Girls School Records went down. In the Girl’s race, the Tigers finished 12th in the 21-team field. Led by a 5th place finish, and School Record-setting performance by freshman Rylie Paskiewicz in 18:05. The other Tiger’s scorers were Skye Hellis (44th), Isla Morrison (83rd), Auden Turner (98th), and Callie Jones (107th). Big performances also came from Sophie Fallon, who ran 23:33, which was a 59 second PR, and Analyn Hymas, Celia Hradesky, and Abby Scholer, who all set PRs by over a minute! In the Boy’s race, the Tigers were overall Runner-Up finishers in the team race. They were led by Wyatt Turner’s 3rd place finish in a School Record time of 15:21. Finishing out the Tigers list of Top-35 Medalists were Thomas Loney (11th), Louie Pevler (13th), Owen Lamb (20th), Cal Shanayda (27th), and Logan Fulton (32nd). Other huge breakthroughs were Matthew Hradesky going sub-19 for the first time (18:35), Cody Lee and Noah Scholtes going sub-17 for the first time (16:31, 16:46), and Benson Nyamoringo going sub-18 for the first time (17:52) The Tigers are next in action at Taylor University for the Yorktown “Jim Leffler” Invitational on Saturday, September 19th at 9am.
