Yorktown High School

The Yorktown Cross Country squads traveled to Taylor University to host their Yorktown “Jim Leffler” Invitational on Saturday. The meet was moved to Taylor due to the flood damage to Morrow’s Meadow earlier this year. The Girls finished Runner-Up as a team and were led by individual champion Skye Hellis, who blazed the course in 20:47 for the win. Auden Turner (8th), Isla Morrison (9th), Lexi Slaven (15th), Callie Jones (17th), and Sophie Fallon (20th) were also Top-20 Medalists. The Boys also finished as Team Runner-Ups on the day and were led by Top-20 Medalists Zion Lobdell (7th), Micah Brooks (18th), and Benson Nyamoringo (19th). Other scorers for the Tigers were Cameron Shore (23rd) and Jeremiah Harp (29th). The Yorktown squads also snagged 4 JV Medals on the day. Top JV finishers for the Girls were Lauren Scholer (5th), Anna Scholtes (3rd), and Kendall Turner (1st)! Ben Hradesky was the lone JV Medalist on the Boys side, finishing in 3rd.
