Yorktown High School

The Yorktown Cross Country squads traveled to Mt. Vernon to compete at the Hoosier Heritage Conference Championships on Saturday. In the Girl’s Race, the Tigers secured a 4th place finish as a team, as Rylie Paskiewicz took the Individual HHC title. Also finishing as a HHC All-Conference medalist was Skye Hellis, who finished 15th overall. Rounding out the scorers for the Tigers were Auden Turner (28th), Isla Morrison (31st), and Sophie Fallon (37th). On the Boy’s side, The Tigers successfully defended their HHC title. The Tigers outpaced the field behind the performance of Individual HHC Champion Wyatt Turner. It was also Turner’s 2nd HHC individual title in a row. Yorktown runners also took almost as many of the Top-15 All-Conference medalists spots (7) as the rest of the conference teams combined! All-Conference medalists were: Louie Pevler (5th), Thomas Loney (7th), Owen Lamb (10th), Logan Fulton (11th), Cal Shanayda (14th), and Isaiah Loney (15th). Noah Scholtes also had a fantastic race, finishing one spot outside of the All–Conference recognition, in 16th. The Tigers next travel to XC Town (Lavern-Gibson Championship Cross Country Course in Terre Haute, IN) to compete in the Nike XC Town Twilight on Saturday, October 3rd.
