SECTIONAL SWEEP! The Yorktown Cross Country squads made a CLEAN SWEEP of the Marion Sectional on Saturday! The Tigers took both the Boys and Girls team titles, while Rylie Paskiewicz and Wyatt Turner were the individual winners. In the Girl’s race, it was a Tiger victory by the narrowest of margins, just 1 point! The effort was led by the overall winner, Paskiewicz, in a time of 18:15. She was followed by Skye Hellis (6th), Auden Turner (7th), Isla Morrison (17th), Callie Jones (20th), Lexi Slaven (21st), and Sophie Fallon (31st). This is the Lady Tigers 3rd Sectional Championship in 4 years. On the Boy’s side, the winning margin was wider, as all 5 scoring runners finished in the top 8. The Boys were paced by overall winner, Turner, in time of 15:26. That winning time is the fastest Marion Sectional time in the last 20 years. The Tigers team effort was rounded out by Thomas Loney (3rd), Louie Pevler (4th), Logan Fulton (7th), Cal Shanayda (8th), Owen Lamb (10th), and Cody Lee (13th). This is the Tigers 3rd straight Sectional team title in a row. Both teams now move on to the Manchester Regional next Saturday (10/24) at North Manchester High School.
