Nice 4-1 win for the Tigers against the Owls in our first (finally!) low wind and warm weather day for tennis! Our 1-2-3 singles punch proved too much for them, which took us to 3-1 with 2D still on the court battling in a third set. Jules/Georgia lost the first set 3-6, battled back to win the second 6-4, and then took the third 6-4 by being more consistent from the baseline and taking over the net. 1S - Jillian dominated play against Donahue winning 6-1,6-1 2S - Hannah stuck to her strategy by coming to net and took the win against Hense 6-2,6-3 3S - Alysse stayed consistent and hit winners at the right times, winning against Holroyd 6-2,6-1 1D - Rhen/Isabelle fell 6-0,6-1 to a very strong team of Murray/Burton, struggling to keep it away from the dominating net players 2D - Jules/Georgia fought back to overcome losing the first set to Miller/Reed 3-6,6-4,6-4 In JV play, Owls edged us 7-4 but there were many great matches. Although Ryleigh/Emma lost at 1D, they were down 1-6 and fought back to 6-7, never giving up and pressing on, but ultimately fell 6-8. Ana/Lexi edged out their opponents 8-6, with Ana chalking up her first "notch" of the season by being aggressive at the net - well done! 1S - Claire lost to Murray 8-0 2S - Addison unfortunately had to retire due to a knee injury against Chamness. 3S - Sofia fell 8-1 to DeLong 1D - Ryleigh/Emma lost to Kavars/Tagler 8-6 2D - Adrianna/Nicky took the commanding win over Miesse/Blankenbuhler-Lee 8-1 3D - Praise/Caity lost to Park/Kadrina 8-5 4D - Natalia/Emilee lost to Peconge/Howell 8-1 5D - Lexi/Ana defeated Mapelli/Howell 8-6 6D - Dejah/Avery lost to Brogdon/Sputhwick 8-1 PB - Adrianna/Nicky defeated Bushong/Comier/Marri 8-3 PB - Claire/Sofia defeated Howell/Shrett 8-0 Varsity is now 4-1 and JV is 3-3. Next up is our first Conference match of the season against New Pal @ home on Thursday @ 6:00 PM. Let's go Tigers!
