In the final match head-to-head match of the season, Yorktown Varsity defeated Shenandoah 5-0 and JV fell 3-5. With both Rhen and Georgia out, we mixed up the lineup a bit putting Hannah at 1D with Jules, Emma with Isabelle at 2D, and moved up Alysse to 2S and Claire to 3S. Jillian and Alysse were off pretty quickly against their opponents, and Jules/Hannah and Isabelle/Emma took care of business soon after. That left Claire at 3S who dropped the first set 1-6, but fought back strong to win the second 6-3 and then held onto the momentum to win the 3rd set super tiebreaker 10-5 - really well done! 1S - Jillian defeated Marion 0,0 2S - Alysse defeated Gutierrez 2,1 3S - Claire defeated Busby 1-6, 6-3, 10-5 1D - Jules/Hannah defeated Smith/Pryer 1,1 2D - Isabelle/Emma defeated Rice/Walker 1,2 In JV action, Avery played in her first singles match of the season and took care of business big time! 1S - Sofia lost to Mingle 1-8 2S - Ryleigh lost to Watson 2-8 3S - Ana defeated Bern 8-2 4S - Avery defeated Watson 8-0 1D - Adrianna/Nicky lost to Burton/Parrish 5-8 2D - Praise/Caity lost to Bump/Terrel 4-8 3D - Natalia/Emilee defeated Abshen/Serber 8-5 4D - Sophia/Dejah lost to Jenkins/Craig 4-8 Varsity is now 12-4 overall, with 2 matches left to play in the regular season at tomorrow's Hotdog Invite, and ended the season 4-3 in the HHC.
