The Lindz Sophomore Lindsey Mathews is warming up, Folks, as three of her last four nine hole scores are 42 (opening nine Saturday), 43 (Tuesday), and 40, which was the lowest round on the golf course Wednesday. On the Players Club front nine, Lindsey made pars on 1, 4, and 6, as well as a birdie on the 8th. Lindsey played nine of nine modified quality holes, making no worse than bogey. Well done, Lindsey. AT & Lil-Dunc Behind Lindsey were Alysse Taylor's 44 and Lilly Duncan's 45. Alysse has been incredibly consistent during her junior season and continues to think her way around the golf course. Alysse was one bad swing on hole 3 away from her lowest nine of the season. Lilly continues to do her thing, as the freshman leads the team in tournament scoring average; she has been impressive. Melton & GT Lucy Melton and Grace Turner did not have their best stuff on Wednesday, shooting 50 and 53 respectively. That said, your Tigers are looking to near their season peak on Saturday, September 13th. We have no doubt both Lucy and Grace will be ready. Lucy's golf swing has come a long, long way in a matter of weeks, and Grace is much closer than scores indicate. Leadership Appreciation Shout out to Callie Morey and Addison Whittenburg, both juniors. While these two young ladies have for the most part been just outside the varsity lineup, they continue to set a wonderful example for the youngsters on the team; the parents of these girls should be proud, as Callie and Addison bring smiles, wit, and selflessness to the links every day. Thank you to Callie and Addison for being who you are and for your contributions to our culture. We see you, and we appreciate you. The Boehm Coach Boehm continues his strong performance this season and on Wednesday was tasked with the official scoring for the match. Coach Boehm got out his readers, hired official team accountant Callie Morey to assist, and got the job done. No spreadsheet needed. We have the best co-head golf coach in the state of Indiana here at Yorktown High School. Results: Yorktown 179 Anderson 211 Daleville 234
