Yorktown boys tennis loses to Pendleton Heights The Tigers faced Pendleton Heights on Tuesday, Sept. 9, losing to the Arabians. The varsity team lost 0-5, and the JV squad also fell to their conference foes with 4 wins and 7 losses for the night. Varsity scores are as follows: No. 1 singles Reid Butts (senior) lost 7-5, 2-6, 0-6; No. 2 singles Silas Carder (senior) lost 0-6, 0-6; No. 3 singles Aaron Buehler (junior) lost 3-6, 3-6; No. 1 doubles Palmer Jones (senior) / Noah Kelly (senior) lost 0-6, 0-6; No. 2 doubles Colton Nickols (sophomore) / Jackson West (sophomore) lost 4-6, 6-2, 4-6. This result puts the Tigers' varsity team at 5-6 (and 0-4 conference) for the Fall 2025 season. The JV squad posted 4 Ws for the night — singles & doubles. No. 2 singles junior Gavin Bailey won 2 matches (7-5 and then 6-1), and No. 1 singles sophomore Nolan Clark lost his match (3-6) before rebounding to claim the second (6-2). In doubles, senior Nate Shaneyfelt and junior Colten Slaven lost their first match (1-6) before changing the narrative with their second (6-4). After this 4 win / 7 loss decision, the JV team sits at 3-4-1 (and 0-3 conference) for the Fall 2025 season. The Tigers' boys tennis team faces New Castle on Wednesday, Sept. 10. The match starts at 5:00 PM. This is also senior night for the team.
